STORIES & ANSWERED PRAYERS

Jennifer's Journal: 29/3/05

This year has kicked off to a great start as we are progressing with our ideas and developing well.

As a church we have been blessed with very solid members who over the years have shown complete dedication to the vision of the church and have made themselves available to serve God.

We are also particularly blessed to have some people who are deeply rooted into the ministry and already have leading roles within the church. Some of these people were ordained this month.

On the 13th March 2005, Mr Ita Okon Ama was ordained as Pastor. Ita has been a member for 3 years. He uses his multimedia skills to provide visual aid during services and other meetings.

On the 19th March 2005, the rest of the Ordinations took place.

Mr Santos Sesay who has been a member of the church for six years was ordained as Pastor. He is a Trustee and Prayer Co-ordinator of the church. Mrs Esther Tarreh Akinlade was ordained as Deaconess. Mrs Akinlade is the Social Affairs Co-ordinator and a member of the Ministerial Council; she has been in the church for four years and is definitely an asset to the church.

Mr Daniel Alexander Kamason was ordained as Deacon. He is the leader of the Men’s Fellowship and also part of the multimedia team. He has been in the church for three years and coaches the youth in football skills. Mr Dumasani Isaac Jabangwe was ordained as Elder of the church. He has been in the church for two years and is part of the multimedia team as well as Men’s Fellowship vice President.

I know that Pauline, (Choir Leader) would definitely like to thank him for his patience and commitment as he regularly makes our church building available for the choir to rehearse.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those who were ordained this month. As you all join hands with the Senior Pastor, Leonard Amechi in the leadership of this church I believe with you that we will begin to do mighty works through our lord Jesus Christ.

Remember what the bible says: “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Philippians 4 v 13.

A World of My Own: By Justyn Amechi

My world,

My way,

My rules,

My say.

I wish this were a land of peace,

I wish that violence would cease,

The land God made is a land for good,

A land for peace, Harmony – the way things should

I wish there was no darkness in the sky

I wish there was no guilt or shame in my eye

I wish people would live in harmony

So we can get along with each other

I wish that the homeless would have a roof on their head

I wish that the starving could have at least a slice of bread

I just wish that everything was perfect.

These words of ink may fade away

But this will not overrule what I’m trying to say

I Hope and Pray this world will change

And I hope sensible decisions will be made

Only the heavenly father will see us through

And will cast a shadow of protection over me and you
